About Jason Casanova

Jason Casanova is a professional euphonium performer, teacher, and clinician in the southeast United States. He is a native to San Antonio, TX and currently resides in the Atlanta, GA area.

Jason teaches euphonium and Introduction to Music at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, AL, as well as euphonium and tuba at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, GA. Jason also enjoys arranging music for the Divergence Ensemble as well as writing new arrangements to add to the ever-growing repertoire of the euphonium.

His primary teachers include:

  • Abel Cortinas, former Solo Euphonium - US Army Field Band

  • William Peter Kline, Former Trombone - San Antonio Symphony & Freelance Trombone Teacher

  • Lee Hipp, Tuba - San Antonio Symphony

  • Adam Frey, International Euphonium Soloist, Yamaha Performing Artist, Associate Professor of Music - University of North Georgia

When not teaching, arranging, or playing video games, Jason also performs with various musical groups such as:

  • Georgia Brass Band (Principal/Solo Euphonium) - Georgia's premiere British-style brass band made up of excellent professional and amateur players from the metro Atlanta area.

  • 4th Ward Afro-Klezmer Orchestra - based in Atlanta, Georgia an eight piece jazz ensemble performs original compositions and arrangements merging klezmer music with West-African influenced rhythmic styles.

  • Mercury Orkestar - fuzing Pop rhythm, Balkan melody, and Jazz improvisation in lively performances that are a shot of pure excitement.

  • Divergence Ensemble - Tuba/Euphonium quartet
